Sharing Request Links
Sometimes the fastest way to finish a request isn't to interrogate the customer over the phone — it's to hand them the keyboard. Every open request has a public link you can share, and it opens a guided flow that walks the customer through exactly what's still missing. They fill in the gaps on their own time; the request updates in Driive as they go.
Sharing the link
- Open the request from your Inbox or the Requests list.
- In the header, click Request info. (The button shows while the request is still gathering — once an appointment exists, it's replaced by booking-link sharing on the appointment.)
- The Request info from customer dialog appears with the link: "Send this link so your customer can finish their request. It opens to the next thing you need."
- Click the copy button and paste the link into a text or email — or the open button to preview it yourself in a new tab.
Tip: The link is smart — it opens straight to the next thing the request needs, not the beginning. If you already picked the appointment type and captured the address on the call, the customer lands directly on the remaining questions.
What the customer sees
The link opens the same friendly, branded guided flow customers get from your booking page:
- Service — if the request doesn't have an appointment type yet, they pick the service (answering your routing questions when you use them).
- Questions — the type's booking questions, one at a time, including photo uploads ("snap a picture of the leak"). They can step back to change an earlier answer.
- Address — the service address, when the job needs one and it isn't set yet.
- Submit — Driive finalizes the request.
Every answer saves to the request immediately — you can watch it fill in from your side, and a glowing Live session badge on the request shows when they're in the flow right now.
The two endings
What happens at the end depends on whether the request needs a human:
- Everything checks out — the customer is taken straight to the booking link to pick a time from your live availability, and the appointment is created Scheduled. Start to finish without you lifting a finger.
- A human needs to review — the appointment type requires approval, the lead fell below your qualification threshold, or the address is outside your service area. The customer sees a warm thank-you — "Thank you for your request. We'll be in touch soon to get you scheduled." — and the request lands in your Inbox for you to Approve & Schedule.
Note: If the customer re-opens the link after the appointment already exists, Driive forwards them to their booking link — they can never end up filling out a stale form.
When to reach for it
- Mid-call — "I'll text you a link — tap it and add a couple photos of the roof, and we'll get you scheduled." You keep the call short; they add detail when convenient.
- Needs information requests — anything sitting in your Inbox flagged Needs information is a perfect candidate. Send the link instead of playing phone tag.
- Dropped calls — a request flagged Call dropped captured whatever Dot got before the line went dead; the link picks up right where the call left off.
