Onboarding Walkthrough

The first time you sign into Driive, the onboarding wizard guides you through setting up your business. It takes about five minutes and covers everything Driive needs to configure your service area and availability and get you ready to accept requests.

This article walks through each step so you know what to expect.

The wizard starts by finding your business so it can pre-fill your details.

How it works:

  1. Start typing your business name in the search field. Driive uses Google to auto-suggest matching businesses.
  2. If your business appears in the results, select it. Driive will automatically fill in your:
    • Business name
    • Street address
    • Phone number
  3. If your business doesn't appear (or you prefer to enter details manually), click Enter manually and fill in each field yourself: business name, phone number, street address, city, state, ZIP code, and timezone.

Tip: Double-check the timezone. Driive uses it to display your availability correctly to customers. If your business spans multiple time zones, choose the one where your main office is located.

Step 2: Company info

Next, tell Driive a bit more about your business so the platform can tailor your experience.

You'll provide:

  • What industry are you in? — Select your primary industry from the list (roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, pest control, cleaning, etc.).
  • How many employees do you have? — Choose the range that best describes your team.
  • How did you hear about us? — Let us know how you found Driive (optional).

Step 3: Service area

Define where you work. Your service area determines the geographic radius that customers can book from and helps Driive flag requests outside your coverage.

How to set it up:

  1. Your business address (from Step 1) appears as the center point on a map.
  2. Adjust the radius to set how far you're willing to travel for jobs — anywhere from 5 to 100 miles.
  3. The map updates in real time to show your coverage area.

This is your default service area — you can add more service areas later, or update this one anytime from Setup > Company. Learn more in Availability and Service Area.

Step 4: Availability

Set your default company availability — the days and times when customers can book appointments. Driive starts you with a standard Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM week.

How to configure:

  1. Each day of the week is listed with a toggle to enable or disable it.
  2. For enabled days, set your start time and end time.

Common examples:

  • Standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Extended hours: Monday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Weekends included: Monday through Sunday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Note: These are your default business hours — you can customize them later in settings. Once your team is set up, individual users can have their own availability overrides. See Setting Business Hours for details.

Step 5: Account setup

That's all Driive needs. On the final screen, Driive sets everything up for you — creating your organization, configuring your service area, and preparing your dashboard. It only takes a moment, and then you land in the app.

After onboarding

Once the wizard finishes, Driive drops you into your Inbox — your home base for everything that needs your attention. From here, a few quick wins:

  • Create your first appointment type — Go to Setup > Appointment Types to define the services customers can book. See Appointment Types.
  • Invite your team — Go to Setup > Users to add the rest of your crew. See Users and Teams.
  • Connect your calendar — Go to Setup > Integrations to sync Google Calendar or Outlook and prevent double-booking. See Integrations.
  • Share your booking link — Put your booking page to work on your website, in texts, and in your email signature. See Deploy and Share.
