Appointment Detail
Click any appointment — from the list, the calendar, your Inbox, or a request — and the detail page opens. This is your single source of truth for the job: who the customer is, when it's scheduled, who's assigned, what the customer originally asked for, and a complete history of every change.
Toolbar and header
The top of the page gives you immediate context:
- Status badge — The appointment's lifecycle status (Needs Scheduled, Scheduled, Completed, or Canceled) always shows in the toolbar. Archived appointments show an Archived badge instead.
- Customer name — Displayed prominently, with the business name, email, and phone inline below it. Click the email or phone to open your mail or phone app.
- Appointment type and location — The service (icon and name) and the service address, with a Get directions link that opens Google Maps.
- Issues row — Any open Inbox issue on this appointment shows as a chip here (an unbooked appointment shows Needs scheduled). When there's nothing outstanding, you'll see "No issues currently."
Actions by status
The header surfaces the next logical action as a prominent button, with the rest in the ⋯ menu:
| Status | Primary action | Also available |
|---|---|---|
| Needs Scheduled | Share Booking Link | Edit Appointment, Archive |
| Scheduled | Mark Complete | Edit Appointment, Copy Public Link, Cancel |
| Completed | — | — (read-only) |
| Canceled | Reschedule (reopens to Needs Scheduled) | — |
Archived appointments are read-only and show no actions.
Tabs
Schedule tab
Shown only while the appointment is Needs Scheduled — and it's the default tab, because picking a time is the first thing to do. It holds the Choose a time picker with your team's real availability, plus setting pills to adjust duration, eligible users, the earliest date, and the location. Learn more about scheduling.
Once the appointment is booked, this tab goes away — time changes then go through Edit Appointment instead.
Details tab
The appointment's main surface, always present:
- Customer card — The linked customer record. View or edit their details, jump to their full profile, or change which customer this appointment belongs to.
- Summary cards — Once a time is set, three cards show the essentials side by side:
- Date & Time — The scheduled date, start and end times, and duration.
- Assigned Team — Everyone assigned to the job.
- Location — The service address with a Directions link, plus drive time and distance from the previous appointment when Driive has route info.
- Customer request card — What the customer told you at booking, pulled from the originating request: the initial inquiry summary (with the channel it came from — and a "Summarized by Dot" badge when Driive's AI wrote it), any booking notes the customer left, and their answers to the appointment type's questions. This card is read-only — it's the record of what was said.
- Tech notes card — Your team's internal notes for the tech on the job. Marked Internal; customers never see these. Tech notes also appear on calendar events.
Notes & Activity tab
Internal comments and the full change history — every status change, reschedule, and assignment, with who did it and when. Learn more.
CompanyCam tab
Appears when your CompanyCam integration is connected — link the appointment to a project and see its photos without leaving Driive.
Editing an appointment
Click Edit Appointment to open the edit page, which has two tabs:
- Edit details — Change the date and time directly, reassign users, update the service address, edit tech notes, and revise booking-question answers.
- Find a time — The full availability picker, for choosing a new slot from real openings.
On a Needs Scheduled appointment, saving with a time and at least one assignee books it on the spot. On a Scheduled appointment, saving a time change asks whether to notify the customer. Learn more about rescheduling.
