Onboarding Walkthrough

The first time you sign into Driive, the onboarding wizard guides you through setting up your business. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes and covers everything Driive needs to generate your booking page, configure your availability, and get you ready to accept appointments.

This article walks through each step so you know what to expect.

The wizard starts by finding your business so it can pre-fill your details.

How it works:

  1. Start typing your business name in the search field. Driive uses Google Places to auto-suggest matching businesses.

  2. If your business appears in the results, select it. Driive will automatically fill in your:

    • Company name

    • Street address

    • Phone number

    • Timezone

  3. If your business doesn't appear (or you prefer to enter details manually), click Enter manually and fill in each field yourself.

Tip: Double-check the timezone. Driive uses it to display your availability correctly to customers. If your business spans multiple time zones, choose the one where your main office is located.

Step 2: Company info

Next, tell Driive a bit more about your business so the platform can tailor your experience.

You'll provide:

  • Industry — Select your primary industry from the list (roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, pest control, cleaning, etc.). This helps Driive suggest relevant defaults for appointment types and booking questions.

  • Company size — Choose the range that best describes your team. This helps Driive recommend the right plan and team setup.

  • How did you hear about us? — Let us know how you found Driive (optional).

Step 3: Service area

Define where you work. Your service area determines the geographic radius that customers can book from and helps Driive filter out requests outside your coverage.

How to set it up:

  1. Your business address (from Step 1) appears as the center point on a map.

  2. Adjust the radius slider to set how far you're willing to travel for jobs.

  3. The map updates in real time to show your coverage area.

You can always update your service area later from Setup > Company in the sidebar. Learn more in Availability and Service Area.

Step 4: Availability

Set your standard business hours — the days and times when customers can book appointments.

How to configure:

  1. Each day of the week is listed with a toggle to enable or disable it.

  2. For enabled days, set your start time and end time.

  3. If your hours are the same every weekday, set Monday and use the "Apply to all weekdays" shortcut.

Common examples:

  • Standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • Extended hours: Monday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM

  • Weekends included: Monday through Sunday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Note: These are your default business hours. Once your team is set up, individual team members can have their own availability overrides. See Setting Business Hours for details.

After onboarding

Once you complete the wizard, Driive takes you to your home dashboard. From here you can:

  • Share your booking link — Copy it and send it to customers, paste it on your website, or share it via text message.

  • View your kanban board — When bookings start coming in, they'll appear here.

  • Invite your team — Go to Setup > Users to add team members.

  • Create your first appointment type — Go to Setup > Appointment Types to add additional services.
